Hi Antje

The filling of the inner shoe significantly blew up after heating. Unfortunately I can not say how much and therefore I struggle a bit to say the volume was double or triple of the initial thickness but comparing “before and after” at the crucial parts of the shoe it is definitely in this region.

I have to mention as well that the shoe was Thermofervormed already once but not with the same result. I realized that the temperature must have been much higher the second time. Not only the filling blew up but the rubber sole underneath was about to delaminate and due to this I assume the temperature was significantly higher.

Nevertheless I as well tend to believe that the method has its limits and cannot solve problems with really oversized shoes.

How long it will last? I don’t know…
LG Jan

i also have a flat and wide foot. for me the most important thing (which i recognized to late) was, to have an orthopedic sole which will underpin my feet. this sole should be made by a specialist for skiboots not from a standard orthopaedic specialist.

my most actual boot is a salomon falcon 10. the falcon series seems to have a flat instep. it was a little bit to narrow but every good shop should be able to widen boots.
